Some of us finally bought boats. But I hear you - I spent 12 years on the sand and back then I would have killed for some of the days I saw this year.

Well the new ferry system requires a minimum of $100 for a Spit drop off regardless of the number of people at the dock heading to the lighthouse. It's hard for us non-locals who don't roll in a big group and drive long distances to plan a trip. I went once this year with a friend and we ponied up $50 each.
