Stocking video and report

Postby Emerson » Fri Feb 17, 2012 4:26 pm

I do not know if you have ever been around a float stocking of a fresh water stream. I made my first Go Pro video of the event.

Now once this was done on Wednesday some of those lil trout were a bit hooonnngrey Friday..
Of course, Jim and I knew where the fish were put...ha ha . So we went fishing for them Friday AM. Most of the fish moved downstream a ton but we managed to get a good number. Here are some...

Fly is a pheasant tail like nymph??

Hooked before...they were in the creek 3 days!

Look at this fly..new creation..not mine but a doozy from the manager of a local fly shop

This is the guy I rescued! He was fishing above me...too close as I was catching some and he was not. He has hip boots on. His fly gets hooked on a log across the stream. He goes over to it and gets 1/2 way and yells for help. I throw my rod on the bank and go rescue him. I get over to him and the first thing he wants is for me to get his wooly bugger out of the log. I pull up my fleece and reach in and get it. He says while you are there, I have another one stuck....TFB!!
I then walk him upstream and back across to safety. He is 85 years old and talked my ear off for the next 1/2 hour or more!

Good post. I have never actually witnessed a float-stocking B4.

E - when you are 85 I don't want you to say a single word to me ...
just fish, dang it. ;)

No..the creek can be very shallow in places and it is easier to use people power!

The deepest hole is probably 5 feet deep ....I cut out the scenes of us dragging the box over rocks with the fish high and dry until we got to the other side.
