Holston/Watauga

Postby KnotCase » Thu Jul 21, 2011 6:13 am

Todd and I spent Wednesday on the Holston River looking for smallmouth. Things were a little slow, but we did find a few of these:

We had a surprise too: :o

Today we are fishing the colder waters of the Watauga.

Great job guys...looks like it was fun and a 'tid' hot! :D

Those smallmouths look great and I guess that was a meow fish!

There did seem to be a lull in litigation yesterday!

Nice smallies, and that "channel" is way good !! Carp-on-fly is getting old. The new hot thing is "catfish-on-fly" ... not kidding. People are busy trying to perfect techniques and flies for freshwater meowfish at this very moment.

Like the Boss used to say: "if it swims, throw a fly at it".

Nice work, Todd/Hugh !!

Then there are those that target trumpet/cornetfish. Ru-tee-too !!!

Bumphead Parrotfish ?
