Late fall in PA plus another fly shop goes under

Postby Emerson » Fri Dec 03, 2010 12:44 pm

Wednesday it warmed up to 48 degrees and was raining...purrrrfect! :D
This is on the Little Lehigh near Allentown, PA
First..sadly, another fly shop bites the dust... :o
This shop has been there forever..it is an old spring house..it has water running through it. The guy who ran it, is in his seventies and has no one to hand it off to plus..it does not do a whole lot of business...

A bunch of freshwater innovators :..fly tyers, bug watchers have all sat here and chewed the fat... Lots of memories along here..

But the spring creek still works...

they were liking the San Juan worm

Had a nice brown on..it did 3 circles in the slack water next to a run...I thought I had him...he thought..WTF am I doing here in the easy water...took off for the fast water and turned into it and he raised the fin and said..Free at Last, Free at Last!

Can't have a day without at least one of these guys!

If someone threw a scrapple sandwich in the stream..this boy would pile right on it!

Heh John,
They are great..I have not had a single hook hang up in the net. The net itself unhooks probably 50% of the fish hooked...that is a plus. They also do not stink as much..hmmm...maybe that is because I am not catching as many fish as before???

You should email that last pic of Mr. Electrolux to "Brodin" !!

If they have any sense-of-humor at all, they'll put it in their photo gallery.
