Who says Roanoke river stripers don't get big......

One of our bilogist sent me this photo. It was taken Monday on the Roanoke River. The fish was electroshocked during sampling by the Division of Inland Fisheries. Weight 48.5 pounds.

I am hoping tomorrow I can fish. I have the 9wt with me just in case, something tells me my little 6wt will not make it through a fight with a fish like that, then again I have been trying to break that rod for a year now so I can get a replacement... hmmmm :twisted:

Downeast George Beckwith caught a 48 pound striper this sprin in the river on a shad. There are some big girls there.

Well apparently they were not around today. I will leave it to the rest of the group to tell the story. Lets just say right now I am afraid I might break my computer.
