Vimeo and Music

Postby kendalloz » Sat May 24, 2014 4:36 pm

For those who use Vimeo...they have a new policy regarding music. If they think your video uses copyright protected music they will delete your sound but let your video remain. Not sure when this policy starts.

I watch a lot of online videos that would be much more enjoyable if you could just enjoy watching what was being filmed and not having to put up with the d--n background music the would be "Directors" think is cool.

That deleting of copyrite music could be a Good Thing.

YouTube did that but not anymore --you can acknowledge the copywrited music and all seems to be well. I much prefer my vids with music

Brian and KO...this just happened to me with Vimeo...they would not let me accept my video unless I had just sound effects type music.
B--how do you acknowledge music on You Tube so they let you play it?

there is a box to check that you acknowledge the conflicted music - some of the time you can only view your vid on your computer --will not let you use mobile devices and they run an advertisement at the bottom of your vid

Thx. I did not know about the acknowledge option on Youtube. That is great. But I bet there is no way to acknowledge a Beatles cut for your fishing video. :?: :!:  :?:

Don't like the music? There's a nifty solution to that. Click the mute button.
