Help a novice

Postby JoeB » Thu Oct 18, 2012 5:18 pm

Have a Canon Rebel XS1 and would like to invest in a good lens. Camera is used exclusively for around the house and social situations (have a new 5 month old at home, etc); we are new to the SLR world and still favor ourselves as "point and shoot" folk. Would like the option for a modest zoom and autofocus. Figure price point at $250??

Help. Me. Please. hahahaha.

The Canon 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM is a great lens, one of my favorites in fact. New, its a bit north of where you were hoping for but as a refurb, its sitting around your price point.
