Slam time!!!

Postby SOBX » Thu Oct 01, 2009 4:53 pm

Blues to 5 pounds, spanish to the same and just enough albacore that ate to give Capt. Donnie Hatcher I both slams times 3 this morning! :D Biggest problem we had was finding flies we wanted to lose with the "toothy critters" since we went hoping to chase 'cores on the Eastside! ;) It was certainly pretty enough to get over that way and look around for 'cores and some carp, but we never made it across!

May hit it in the morning if the forecast is on the money (light NE going to ENE and then South) before heading to the Ca. Beach area for some tailing tides Sat/Sun.

Blues and some spaniards on poppers, most of the spanish hit pink/white, chart/white and old epoxy surf candies that had turned a little yellow (they matched the hatch and we certainly didn't mind losing a few)!

"Cores were on small white on white polar fiber flies that were tiny, maybe 1 1/4 to a little over that on size 6 hooks.

Good Fishing!!!

Looks like the morning will really suck/blow depending on when the wind shifts and it is gonna blow hard enough that the dog is gonna have to use a cane to hike a leg without getting rolled over!

Might try the inlet afternoon on the out going for some blues and spanish. Both the Harkers Island Bridge and the North river Bridge are holding some specks, the high rise over between MHC and BFT is holding some trout and blues, the spots are running (last resort) and 450 or so sinking lines might get you some grey trout at the Hook back towards the lighthouse (maybe some 'cores on an outgoing tide). SW is a tough wind to fish if it really BLOWS, just not many places to hide! Now Thursday looks a 'tid" better!

Good Fishing!!!
