Went offshore early Saturday with buddies Walter, David and Tim in Walter's Sea Hunt. Trolled for a couple hours and caught one nice Mahi. We then decided to jog to the Atlas Tanker and put out a chum bag and the party started. First the AJs showed up in numbers. everyone landed one but me. Then the Cobia joined in. We had about 6 come right up to the boat. Tim landed both of the 2 that were caught. One was 36 inches and the other over 40 inches. Everything at the tanker was caught on live menhaden with the exception of one AJ caught by Walter on the fly. What was really cool was a Tiger Shark about 9 feet long that paid us multiple visits. She acted very curious and came very close to the boat. Very beautiful the way she was marked. Sunday morning we tried the Summerlin wreck early but no love there. We really didn't give it much time cause we all were ready to go back to the Atlas. After about a half hour there on the bag the AJ party started again. This time more of the burros showed up and they brought their bigger brothers. We had 3 fish on at one time and landed all three in the 40-50 lb range. more Cobia came up but we could not get one to eat. All the AJs were returned to the sea. They put up such a good account of themselves it would be a shame to kill them. However we did return home with fresh Mahi and Cobia for the table. Really a good time on a couple of picture perfect days. :D Dave
