Hi! Another really nice day on the water and we had 3 boats out again and we all caught lots of albies. In fact, we hooked 44 and landed 22 of them and lost at least 10 of them to sharks. We even had a shark bump one of the boats to make for some excitement. We caught most of them behind trawlers after starting the day at the Hook and getting a few there to get the day off to a good start. The 44 hooked today gives the house a total of 412 hooked and 258 landed this year, just 7 shy of last year, which was our best year ever. Numbers don't tell the whole story, but they do indicated that this year has been really good, and it isn't over yet, not by a long shot. Looks like we might have one more shot to better the record set last year as Thurs looks like it might be doable, but Wed, Fri, and Sat all look like blow days. Time to catch up on sleep and tie some flies to replace all those that have been lost to sharks among others. With water temps still in the 70s it looks like the season will last well into Dec unless we really get a long cold front. That should give all of you a chance to get down and get in on this fantastic action. I think Brian and Sarah still have some open dates. You can always come down and try on your own, but if it is your first time down, getting with them will definitely be worth it to find out what it is all about and how to best succeed. We got most of them today behind trawlers, get up close, put the boat in neutral, and cast into the disturbance right behind the trawler. Let your line sink a little bit and it should be game on. We have found that flies with a little gold flash have proven to be more successful for some reason. Hope to see you all bowed up on Thurs and if you want to come by to shoot the breeze tomorrow while it blows outside, the house is open. Thanks and tight lines, mike buss
Glad to hear fishing is still going well. I was down there on an off week, at least for my boat. Two out of five days, with those two days very poor, doesn't help the count. The Junebug didn't do too well this trip.
