House Report #1

Postby fishermike » Sun Oct 19, 2014 4:05 pm

Hi! Well, the VCFA house is open, but the wind is blowing 20 kts and that is keeping us off the water. We did play at being sand people yesterday but the albies did not show, a small shark, 4 rays, a few small bluefish and the ever present lizard fish were caught however! We had some guys try the Haystacks but they were not able to land any trout or puppy drum, they did see some caught however. We also had a kayaker try the Middle Marsh area behind the house, but again no luck. Wx is expected to improve over the next few days and we hope to get out and find some albies. Even with the wind howling, it still is great to be down here and making an attempt at fishing!! thanks and tight lines, mike :D

A gift from the Big Possum to go along with the BBQ! :D

Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 40s...except in the upper 40s near the beaches. North winds 10 to 15 mph.

Partly cloudy in the morning...then becoming sunny. Highs in the lower 70s. Light and variable winds...becoming south around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night
Partly cloudy in the evening...then becoming mostly cloudy. A 20 percent chance of showers. Lows in the upper 50s. South winds around 10 mph...becoming southwest after midnight.

Partly sunny. A slight chance of showers in the morning. Highs in the mid 70s. Light and variable winds...becoming southwest around 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Hate the weekend folks missed this, not a lot, but I do feel for em. Feeling kinda "trouty" myself so the skiff will get the nod for a 3 hour tour in the morning.

Tell you kayak, small boat folks to try the Harkers Island Bridge, not a bunch of specks, but the ones there have been nice. The HI drawbridge is holding some gray trout if you have sinktips and weighted flies.

Good Fishing!!!
