A Decent Day on the Roanoke

Postby SOBX » Tue Apr 01, 2014 8:07 pm

Not world class, but damn close, and while I refuse to rag on the "help", they did better than they ever imagined for their first trip to THE RIVER!!! ;)

If you knew where to go and what to do when you got there on 10,000/11,000cfs, this was waiting for you to take your best shot ---

--- and we did, time and time again! :D Was once again reminded of why the 6 hour round trip from Harkers to renew old bonds for 4/5 hours should NEVER be questioned. :D

Friends, outstanding ---- numbers, obscene ---- memories, priceless ---- could almost hear Capt Jack and that alone was worth the trip! ;)

Good Fishing!!!

Holding you some days in April over your Easter time off from school, just let me know. The roes are fat & sassy and I feel an overnighter on Rightmeyer Drive and a ham biscuit at Abners before hitting the River! :D

Good Fishing!!!

Glad you are doing well there. Had some friends on the Nottoway today and it was VERY SLOW...river was 1.5 feet above normal.

You might consider taking a third person along. I mean, how else will you get the anchors set and pulled???

Tom's shoulder is still healing, and I know you "have to run the boat" and can't pull anchors.

Which means you need a real dummy along to pull those anchors.

And . . . well . . . you know I'm among the dumbest around . . .

Although I did finally learn what Tom keep telling me: "You have to let out 10 more feet of anchor line??"
