Almost Haloween

Postby BlueHeron » Wed Oct 30, 2013 5:43 pm

I actually did dress as a blue heron for Halloween once. Pulled it off pretty well too.
Like my namesakes who wade fish, I too was in Knee Deep today.
Smoot is a marvelous host, and after a conversation with the Ray-marine dealer today, he can talk on the radio too.
we started off with a passel of Alberts just off the cape before 9, but when that slowed we moseyed east.
Stuck it out a long time with it looking like it might come together for some bigger seasonal quarry.
seemed like there might be a pumpkin patch somewhere.
There was, under some sharks on the surface we saw bigger marks.
Smoot hooked up. This 18 pounder was overmatched with his 12 wt and skills. Never took line, was quickly landed, photoed and released happy.

BTW. heard about a real good drum bite way up the beach, but that seemed to far to run.

Great job guys! super find with that pumpkin especially this close to their special night!

Getting a passel of albies is very special as well ;) :o

I heard others might have gotten (easy palindrome to remember coming up) a poop load! :P
