My wife, a GYN, is exceptionally skilled with the DaVinci robot for pelvic surgery. She has taught me a good bit about it. It does not have much use in my field. The tool is very cool for certain applications, but I'm not sure I can justify a couple thousand dollars of disposable instruments for tying flies!!!!!

The guy doing the video clearly has solid skills.

One of the great advantages of the system is the ability to scale motion. Meaning you can set the robot to mimic your hand motions but move only a fraction as much. Thus you move the controls to make an instument scribe a 1" circle. If the motion is scaled 10:1, the robotic arm will scribe a 0.1" circle. Just think of the potential for tying those #28 midges.
