Marabou

Postby BCflyfisher2012 » Wed Apr 29, 2009 10:53 pm

Hello,

I tie a lot of flies with marabou and the trout here in the Shenandoah Valley are tearing up the marabou making a fly good for only 2 or 3 outings. Does anyone know of a more durable material that swims like marabou?

Thanks
Bradley

BC, You can use Artic fox fur. It is not as long as marabou but it swims just like it.

I use Artic Fox for my shad flys, it usually lasts most of the days fishing if I am catching them, if I am not one fly could last for days.
