it is just kinda the "throw a chicken" thing when you want it to get noticed lots of stuff tied to push water and wiggle and attract attention without flash that can perhaps startle a fish at close range. Might work for muskies. I usually tie it more like the write up in FFSW (doll eyes and no epoxy) and have also made some really big ones like 12-inches long.

Here is a pic of one that was used...one fly one fish. It is really zoomed in and thus the blur. Hook eye is just left of lower center there is one doll eye on the fly (on the left) the other broke off.
