quick report

Postby toddkfly » Fri Dec 03, 2010 10:28 pm

Hit around New Point Comfort and then York river mouth today. Good bait marks, very few fish marks, 52 degree water. We did come across a small pod of schoolies on our way back to Poquoson but were gone when we got close enough to launch. Chin straps and helmets and a big fat skunk. Looks like a good 5 day blow coming. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Sounds like my day. Well no marks and I didn't need a chinstrap instead I was glad I had my splashtop on taking waves over the bow of the kayak.

Thanks Todd. I was waiting for your report. I think that we are gonna see birds there in a couple of weeks. This blow will help that.

My father in law went on a trolling trip North of Reedville and they got 5 between 25 and 35 lbs. Looks like as of Friday, the slobs were still north. I asked him if they saw any on top, and he said no....of course they were trolling so why would he look?

Good fishing still off northern Jersey so those fish are a little behind as well. Hope they make that right turn in mass as they get into our neck of the woods. May go again on Friday to see what it feels like above 40 degrees and no wind.

Some bigger fish have already entered the Bay. Recent report up here of 38 to 47 pound fish caught trolling just north of Bloody Point.

Todd, I may go Friday but have to do a juggling act. Stafford and I will be out in full force on Saturday. Would love to know what you find down your way. It will have implications where I go Saturday.

Wow, I just realized how long it has been since I fished the bay.

This weekend should be the time to remedy that.

Will let you know how we do on Friday Tom. Everything I am hearing has the fish north or at the CBBT. I may end up running straight east depending on the tide and dredge the channel edges with a 650 grain or T-14. I'll be in a duck blind Saturday am but that looks like the best no wind day in a while so may change my plans.
