Report of some good sized yellow eyes around York Spit

Postby toddkfly » Thu Sep 09, 2010 3:45 pm

Tried to go out today and validate but dock lift had a bad cylinder and I was stuck. Talked to some of the guys I fish with and they said there has been a nice class of bluefish hanging around York Spit area. 4-9lbs from what they said. Hope to be out over the weekend or early part of next week. Spaniards are still around in good numbers as well.

Good news thanks. Have heard the same class of blues are following the bunker schools around the CBBT and oceanfront! Maybe next week!

Some have been under scattered birds but in many cases they pop up on a pod of bait, do their thing and then they are off to the next meal. Fortunately, we have been seeing tons of bait, anchovies, small bunker, etc... Talked to Tommy Matioli over the weekend and he was hitting them down near Hampton as well on topwater. He said most of his were 6-8 lbs. Hope to be out there on Tuesday or Wednesday this week. Hope you find them up your way!

Thanks Todd. I hope so too. I have been catching good numbers of stripers on wood. I can't wait for cooler water temps.
