Sad - apparently killed in a plane crash earlier today.

Terrible news. I first heard of Golfito Sailfish Rancho from his show. That led to going with Brian and Sarah and then meeting the rest of you. R.I.P.

God Speed to a better place. Sad news. Apparently his identity is not confirmed:

A story...when I was looking at small boats I saw one of his shows and he was in a small skiff (Not a Hells Bay) with another guide. Looked up the skiff they were less expensive than HB looked interesting wanted more info. On a whim looked up Jose in white pages for the Keys and he was in the book! Called the number and got the answering machine. But it was him. Kinda figured that would be it and about an hour later the phone rings and it was Jose! He called back a nobody stranger who called with a question! We had a nice chat on the phone. Super nice guy sorry he had to go so soon.

I am really bummed. I met him once at a FF show in Timonium, MD. Super nice person. Tragic.
