yep, and with 5 photogs running all summer, we are laying out the new wiring before we get the studs up at the new place.

KO the D7000 takes an exceptional photo--but it has some quirks --not enough to out way the pros.
my biggest dislike which is irrelevant in video mode is the command mode knob which is on the left side of the camera --and exposed. UNLike the the D200, d300, d700 you have to hold down the mode button and change modes with the command dial. If you are not careful with the D7000 you can change modes and not realize it in the heat of battle --i got some great shots of knotsense's last sailfish but the mode was between manual and U2 ---not good outcome. Other than that bitch i really like the camera and video is very good --but extremely hard to see the live view screen in the sun.

Thanks. From what I read on the video forums you cannot see any DSLR video display in the sun. You can fix that with a viewfinder...here is how to make a cheap one....

Now there is the D3200, which according to Ken Rockwell "At 24MP in DX, the D3200 has higher linear resolution than any other DSLR ever made in any format: 255 pixels per millimeter. (The 36 MP D800 only has 200 pixels per millimeter in its larger FX format.)"

i wonder how tuff they are ---that is my biggest worry d3200 that is

As of now KEH has some D700s LN for 2000.00 and they had the D800 for 2999.99 but out of stock and they have a few D2Xs for 1200. Now that is one tough camera Tosh Brown has shot those for years and finally they are ailing from the saltwater sickness. Think my D300s are going that way. That is why i am interested in D700 as we have plenty or great full frame glass from the old film days

I would not bet on the ability of a 3200 to last in some salt spray. But if you could get a body only it would be a tempting backup. I read that folks are betting on 700s being 1K by summer. Tough choices....

speaking of housings Pat Ford is using the all his underwater stuff. It is small enough and easier to handle and when traveling you do not need an extra checked bag just for your housing. The camera shoots both in RAW and HD video

Sold my D300, 18-200 lens and a 70-300. That plus a trade on the manual focus 600 should put me in the neighborhood of the 800. Then I'll have a computer problem no doubt.

Go for it!

I sold my D90 (got a Gr8 price on eBay almost what I paid for it) and am thinking of selling the D300 and some DX glass. That would probably get me 2/3 of the way...but I'd be without a camera if I sold the D300 before I got a 800!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
