Been coming to the Outer Banks for several years but never had the time to get out and fish. Now that the boys are older and can entertain themselfs I plan on bringing the kayak and flyrod for the first time next week. Will be staying in Avon and plan on fishing the sound side (Canadian hole and where ever else I end up). Is it best to fish the edges of the grass beds and drop offs? Also for the sound what winds do I want to stay out of?

Thanks for any help

Welcome. Brian has a good article here. Try searching "OBX in Summer" or maybe someone remembers the link?
