Kayak Fishing Near Shore Shipwrecks

Postby HeaveToo » Sun Aug 05, 2012 5:16 am

Has anyone had any luck paddling out to some of the near-shore shipwrecks off of the beach and fishing them? I am heading to the OBX next week and I will be in Duck. Does anyone know of any close by wrecks that may be good for fishing in that area?
Under a black flag I shall sail; and the seas will be my empire.

really depends on wind direction. wind direction really determines the water temps. Winds from the west and southwest can drop the water temps into the low 60s. If the water is warm in the ocean there have been a few triggers on the local wrecks.
I do know for a fact the yakers fishing around the north side of Oregon Inlet Bridge in the creeks have been catching reds.
