May hot spots

Postby RickC » Thu Mar 08, 2012 10:55 am

I'll be down in mid-May, planning on kayak fly fishing all the usual spots around Oregon Inlet (propeller slough, behind coast guard station, off island slough, green island slough). Usually have minimal success in those areas, wanted to ask for tips on any other spots to try. It seems I usually end up leaving OBX right before it warms up and the action really starts, hopefully this year will be different.

Free public launch just over the bridge to Manteo. Fish the bridge piling next to the channel. It is only a 100yard paddle.

Looking for a kayak mate to fish for shad in the Susquehanna soon. I see you are in Fredrick.
