the Nikon 18 to 200 is more than capable of delivering super images and is much easier to use on the boat. I screwed the pooch and only brought one and sarah used it

don't switch --i have thought of switching to Cannon a 1000000000 times but too much glass to start over. Cannon has the noise issue really figured out. Go look at Pat Fords images and you will be happy

Pete,
I keep thinking the same thing. Then I realize I don't begin to get the most out of my gear. I'm afraid for me it is the driver, not the car. Just gives me an excuse to go to more pretty places and shoot pics. I need the practice.

Your lessons in editing have helped a lot. Haven't had a chance to thank you for that.

Cutter, I'm with you. The driver of my canon isn't up to its full capabilities. I'm planning on taking one of the Horizon classes up your way this year. Want to join me?

I do wish my 40d was a better/faster autofocus camera. If been shooting a lot of kids sports and find it a hair slow to focus.

The Horizon programs are greet. I did one in Chesapeake City with Steve Gottlieb, and another in Cape Cod with Lou Jones.

Pete, at least part of the autofocus speed is in the lens. That's where the new Nikon 70-200 shines. But I understand Canon has one that's just as good, maybe better.

Hugh, for the sports I'm primarily using the Canon 70-200 F4. I have been thinking about getting the 2.8 version since we are indoors for a lot of the sports.
