Boss,

You gotta push hard to make that an issue.

Further, you mistake me for someone who will go nameless (E.M.E.R.S.O.N) as the cause of all bad natural and unnatural events. I seem to remember many a trip where I was stuck in an office and you and He-who-prompts-ill-winds waited for the gale to fall out. I had a prefectly lovely streak of good luck until HWPIW hung a #24 flag on my boat. The rest is bad karma.

I will meet you and HWPIW in Charlotte and all will be well. I refuse to believe otherwise. G'nite.

he Cutter,
The only ill wind I have caused lately has not been ill to me..if you get me 'drift'

Plus...the #24 flag was not me....I honestly had nothing to do with it...I gave it to the real culprit a few years before.... I cannot be guilty for a small gift given to a third party..can I? ;) 8-)

I'd been watching L92, which was hanging at 40% for days, not looking too organized.
Now it is a 90% er - and you can see rotation on this satelite (the clip will update- so you will see something different, unless you look soon)
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t2/flash-vis.html

Tracks for the models still put it around baja to greet us. just gotta hope all that land in between cuts it down to size.

Or if we know who HWPIW is........ can we influence the models?? I just looked up the meaning of all those model acronyms - BAMS, NOGAPS, etc - found out that UKMET is Unbelievable Kinetic Meterological Emerson Trajectory. ;)

5pm update - L92 skipped tropical depression - went straight to tropical storm.
Karl is supposed to weaken to tropical depression over the Yucatan, then reintensify over the gulf -(two models suggest hurricane, but official forecast is just TS) before hitting mainland mexico.

but the good news is it is expected to dissipate over the mainland:

"AFTER FINAL
LANDFALL IN MEXICO...KARL SHOULD EVENTUALLY DISSIPATE OVER THE
MOUNTAINS OF CENTRAL MEXICO.

FORECAST POSITIONS AND MAX WINDS

INITIAL 14/2100Z 18.3N 84.2W 35 KT
12HR VT 15/0600Z 18.9N 86.0W 40 KT
24HR VT 15/1800Z 19.6N 88.1W 45 KT...INLAND
36HR VT 16/0600Z 20.4N 90.3W 30 KT...INLAND
48HR VT 16/1800Z 21.0N 92.6W 35 KT...OVER WATER
72HR VT 17/1800Z 21.5N 96.0W 55 KT
96HR VT 18/1800Z 21.5N 99.5W 30 KT...INLAND
120HR VT 19/1800Z...DISSIPATED"

It ain't cutter's fault. just sayin.

Anybody else still watching Karl?
He's been full of surprizes.
Two supplemetary updates already this am
The 10am one - already a hurricane again - with a chance of being a major hurricane before landfall.
Good news is that the track has shifted south, and it is still expected to largely dissipate over land.
But what happens to the remnants over the pacific - we will find out. Hopefull not too up close and personal. :o

Still wondering if certain weather magnetic individuals need to be dealt with - perhaps a ritual - a three eyed toad, a walmart shopping basket, a thong, and a gerbil........
