albies

Postby atocia » Wed Nov 07, 2012 7:25 pm

Having read some of the posts in the fishing report section , it seems the preferd choice when chasing albies is to find them on anchovies rather then silversides or spearing. Can someone please explain the reason why ?

bay anchovies will ball up and are in deeper water --they also look reddish in the water

--spearing or atlantic silver sides do not ball up and for the most part they are along the beaches in shallow water and around inlets. 95% of the bait you see albies feeding on in the "hook" are spearing and along the beaches. Birds are more spread out when over spearing and moving more erratic
