It was a quick change Tibor Pacific...maybe the knob was not as tight as it should be....never happened before but it only had a few fish on it....not a marlin! It never had something that took out that much line for for such a long time...

I am going to use it on sharks this summer...hopefully, and see if we can test it

Has anyone else ever have a Quick change Tibor have the reel pop off due to the knob coming unscrewed?

Don't know about the QC,don't own one. I got a pile of the original Tibors with the fussy little knob, but as long as I had a coin in my pocket, I never had so much as a hiccup.......With all that excitement going on, who's to say.......

I had it happen to me using a Ross BG8 (twice) while hooked up to a 35lb Dorado. :o That reel is history. I have a Tibor Pacific QC which is now going to get a closer look.

I have a QC Riptide... albies, sharks, stripers, reds, and never
the slightest glitch.

are you saying it resulted from the wind coming up, the tide stopping cold, and the trash fish stirring? Or is it yet anothe dimension to the E effect

You guys are hurting my self esteem...If you were in middle school...I would report you for hurting feelings ;)

Why do I get blamed for stuff...I am just a normal type of person just wanting to fish once in awhile
