VCFAf House Report #14

Postby fishermike » Sun Oct 30, 2016 3:48 pm

Hi! Difficult conditions today limited us :| and we were all in by noon. We had the same 4 boats out again, but one of them headed west and then down to Wilmington, one went south to the shoals, one went out to the trawlers, and one headed along Shackleford Is. We found some fish off the gun mounts and had three hookups and landed two. Our boat out by the trawlers was our smallest boat, a 16' Jon boat, and they hooked 7 and landed 5 and said there were lots of albies, but no breaking fish. Then the waves got to 6' and we said we had enough and decided to come in. Totals for the day were 10 hooked and 7 landed bringing us to 316 hooked and 210 landed as we continue to increase our record year. :D One note, no one broke a rod today to stop our 3 day streak of broken rods. Tomorrow looks like it will blow again, but from the North, so we should be ok and then we have a couple of days of light and calm wx. Lets hope we all can get out and get bowed up. Thanks and tight lines, mike buss
