VCFA House Report #4

Postby fishermike » Wed Oct 19, 2016 5:57 pm

Hi! Another nice day on the water, not quite as many as yesterday, but still some quality fishing. :D We had two boats out again with one hooking 5 and landing 4 and our little 14' boat hooked 9 but was only able to land 3. The totals for the house now stand at 86 hooked and 53 landed after just 6 days of fishing. Very respectable by any measure. We ran into them immediately as we passed President's point and we caught a number of them along the shore just south of the point. Then things slowed down until we went down to the shoals and ran into both albies and bluefish. We did have some notable events. One of our members had never caught an albie and this morning as we rounded President's Point, he was the first to make a cast and was hooked up withing 10 seconds. It took off and he broke off, but he made up for it by catching his first one down by the shoals and what an albie it was, 37 1/2" and we guessed it at 20 lbs before releasing it. :D It took him down to almost all of his backing and we thought we were going to have to go albie chasing to land her. All in all a nice day and great conditions. Hope for good wx tomorrow and more bowed up lines. Thanks and tight lines, mike buss
